Lotsofresearcheswereattributedtothenovel.Ogunyemi(1977)studiedthenovelfromtheperspectiveofculturalstudy.BarbaraChristian(1980)analyzedthestructureofthenovel.LuoHongandXuHui(2007)analyzedthelossofblackcultureinthenovel.ZhangxueXiangstudieditfromafeministpointofview.ZengZhijiangandLiuMingjing(2016)analyzedthenarrativestrategiesofthenovel.Butfewscholarsanalyzedthisnovelbyusingpost-colonialcriticimethods.
