Architectswereaskedtointerveneabuildingdoneintheearly90's,inordertobringbackthestudentstoworkinschool.Besidesthat,architectshadto:hostsomeofficesinoneofthebuilding'send,demolishsomescalesthatwereillegalandprovideaccesstohandicapsintheentirebuilding.Weweregivena$100dollarsperm2and3monthsoftime.

Ourdiagnosiswasthatstudentswerenotworkingatschoolduetothesizeofthestudios.Today,almosteverybodyworkswithaputer,withroomsdesignedtohostabout15students,controlandsecurityforeverybody'sequipmentwasnotguaranteed.Sowedecidedtodividethoseroomsinhalfoftheoriginalwidthcreatingaspaceforjust7people,whocananizedthemselveseasier,achievingmoreeffectivelythedesiredsecurity.

Oneoftheconspeoplesawindoingthat,namelythereductionofthelightingin,endedupbeingapro,sinceitoidedtheunfortablereflectionsonthescreens.

Thischangeintheworkingspace,meantachangeinthewaystudiosweretraditionallyusedaswell,productionand“pin-ups”wereunabletohappeninthesameroom,asitusedtobe.Studiosweregoingtobejusttowork；“pin-ups”weregoingtotakeplaceinthespacecreatedbetweenthe“oldbuilding”andthenewregularboxthatwrapsaroundthepreexistingarticulatedshape.

HingaproblemofmoneyandtimewedecidedtoinvestigatetheChileanfruitpackingindustryfordoingtheskin:therewediscoveredsomezincplatesthatifinjectedwithexpandedStyrofoamwereabletoacquireresistanceandoothness.Besidesbeingcheap,theyprovedtobeextremelylight(soeasyandquicktobuild)andfinishedonceinstalled.Theabsenceoftimewasintheendthewaytomeetthecosts.

Thenewskin'scapacitytoreflectendedupbeingthebestwaytorespecttheoldadobehouse,becauseithaadethebuildingcapableofdisappearinginthecorneroftheeye.
